In the information given by the Kyrenia Municipality, it was stated that cleaning and landscaping work was carried out around Bellapais Monastery by the cleaning teams, the fences on the east side of the monastery were cleaned, the benches were painted and the pots were renewed and the flowers were planted.

Kyrenia Municipality Mayor Nidai Güngördü stated in his statement that Bellapais Monastery is one of the most important places in terms of tourism in the country, and that Kyrenia Municipality has carried out a cleaning work in this region within a certain program. Güngördü said, “I wish the tourism problems that were caused in the country during this year due to the Covid 19 Outbreak, will end as soon as possible. It is our duty to protect our historical and cultural heritage. “Our expectation from the citizens about cleaning is that they keep the environment clean and not pollute.”
